This gorgeous Maple Burl driftwood came from Mt. Baker's Nooksack River. I brought it back from the river and turned it on my lathe. It takes many months and the right temperature and humidity for the wood to cure before turning a box. Sometimes the wood grain is so brilliant that you let it speak for itself. This Burl is one of those pieces. I feel honored every time I get to open up a Burl like this and discover the universe hidden inside.

This one of a kind box is a perfect accompaniment to a cuff, earrings or pendant. This size also makes a wonderful salt box for the chef in your life. The lid is airtight and can also store herbs easily.
